"Getting The Right Part To The Right People In The Right Time"

About Us

The Sunset Supply Base (SSB) approach was developed by NSWC Corona Division in March of 2000 to address the ever-increasing obsolescence risks associated with using Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products.

The SSB Approach is recognized by the Assistant Secretry of the Navy (ASN) for Research Development and Acquisition (January 27th, 2005).

The COTS products used in our government and DoD systems often cause financial and schedule problems to the government, manufacturers and system end-users. SSB bridges the gap between the Programs and COTS maufacturers.

Our Mission is to mitigate risks of obsolescence by:

  • Providing long-term support for government programs that use COTS products.
  • Reducing the upfront costs associated with Life Type Buys (LTB) and costly redesigns.
  • Ensuring that system end-users have the right COTS products to complete their mission.
Along with being the proud recipent of the Admiral Stanley R. Arthur Logisitician of the Year Award for 2005 we were also recipents of:
  • SPAWAR Team Excellence Award (2006)
  • Finalist of the Admiral Stanley R. Arthur Logistics Team of the Year Award for 2005
